First Course (Ichinozen)
The First Course (Ichinozen) marks the beginning of the celebratory banquet with a menu rich in symbolism and tradition, thoughtfully created for this auspicious occasion.
The experience begins with a ceremonial selection of foods that represent blessings and good fortune, featuring ingredients such as musubi kombu (knotted kelp), chestnuts, black soybeans, and dried persimmons.
This is followed by a clear soup prepared with sea bream—a fish long associated with celebration in Japan—and kobujime, delicately cured sashimi inspired by historical records of the Egawa family.
An elegant assortment of seasonal appetizers, presented in the style of a traditional lacquered tray, reflects the refined tastes and cultural traditions of the samurai class during the Edo period. Together, these dishes revive the beauty, symbolism, and spirit of a historic Japanese wedding banquet, inviting guests to begin their culinary journey into a world of celebration.

The Second Course (Ninozen) continues the celebratory banquet with a menu that gently bridges the joy of the occasion and the richness of everyday life.
Beginning with whole grilled sea bream—a timeless symbol of celebration in Japan—the course features simmered seasonal vegetables and root vegetables, together with a comforting miso soup enriched with sardine fish dumplings, reflecting the natural bounty of both the sea and countryside of Izu.
Inspired by the culinary traditions of the Edo period, the meal concludes with steamed rice, narazuke pickles, and a delicately sweet tokoroten dessert, thoughtfully arranged as the final chapter of the banquet.
