ABOUT IWAITABI

Travel through history,
savor stories, and embark on
a blessed journey.

At the foot of the sacred Mt. Fuji, IWAITABI invites you on an extraordinary journey into the heart of Japan's culture of celebration. Set within the historic Egawa Residence—home to the Egawa family, whose legacy spans nearly 900 years—this immersive experience offers far more than a wedding ceremony. It is an opportunity to discover the beauty, traditions, and spiritual values that have shaped Japanese culture for centuries.

As you walk through the residence once governed by the Egawa family, who served the Tokugawa Shogunate, you will encounter the philosophy, aesthetics, and hospitality that defined an important chapter of Japan's history. Dressed in traditional wedding attire, you become part of a ceremonial procession and timeless rituals inspired by authentic Japanese customs.

Your journey begins with the appearance of Egawa Hidetatsu, portrayed in full samurai attire. The elegant sounds of gagaku—Japan's ancient imperial court music—and a performance of iai, the traditional art of drawing the sword, recreate the atmosphere of a bygone era.

The experience concludes with a celebratory Edo-inspired banquet, where every dish tells a story rooted in Japanese history and seasonal traditions.

Blending history, culture, travel, and cuisine, IWAITABI is a one-of-a-kind celebration that engages all five senses and offers an unforgettable encounter with the beauty and spirit of Japan.
